Robyn Dougall wins the FYCA Young Yachtsmens Trophy

On Saturday, 16 November,  at the annual prize giving in the club Robyn was awarded “The Young Yachtsmens Trophy” by the Forth Yacht Clubs Association for her services doing rescue in the Forth.

Robyn has driven ribs on 3 occasions to help yachts that have grounded or broken masts etc.   Robyn was also involved in rescuing 2 men who were washed overboard off their yachts in a force 7, one of whom was not wearing a lifejacket.  She spotted the casualty and helped an adult pull him aboard the rib.

She gave a big thank you to all the clubs that voted for her to be awarded the trophy and thanks to the Council of the Royal Forth Yacht Club for nominating her.  The Young Yachtsmen’s Trophy was first awarded 43 years ago in 1970 in memory of Richard Hardy.
Robyn has also excelled in her achievements in representing Scotland in The Honda Rib Challenge.  See report.
