Alastair Wight is planning to bring his boat back from the West Coast to Granton, and is looking to recruit one or two crew to assist in bringing it down from the Inverness end of the Caledonian Canal sometime around the end of this month. This is a journey of some 200 miles, and (weather permitting) is expected to take at least 3 days, with a couple of overnight stops.
He is hoping that someone who has done the East Coast trip before might be interested so that they can warn him of any pitfalls, where to overnight and suitable watering holes!
You would need to make your own way to Inverness, but will be fed and watered on the trip.
Errant is a grand old lady at 53 years old and although reasonably comfortable some people may find her a bit basic! LOA 11m Beam 3m. She has 5 berths in two cabins and was built in 1961 by Alfred Mylne who also designed her.
Anybody interested can contact him directly (details in the handbook), or via the office.
