A visit by Queen Victoria

Despite the poor visibility this morning (Sunday 25 May) the sharp eyed amongst you may have seen something big out in the Roads on the web cam.  It is the cruise liner, Queen Victoria:

Queen Vic in mistAlthough liners coming into Edinburgh usually anchor up at Queensferry, there is already a big liner up there this weekend: Mein Schiff (these details from the AIS site http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/home)

Therefore Forth Ports arranged for the Queen Victoria to anchor off Leith and they are bring the passengers ashore at Newhaven.  They will have a bit of a bumpy ride this morning.

There is a possibility that at some time in the future, Forth Ports may bring liner passengers in through Granton Harbour, which would be a good development for us.
