2015 Sailing Instructions now available

2015 Sailing Instructions: details of all this season’s club races, and this year something for the cruisers as well – the Season Challenge.

In recognition of the popularity of Top Gear for ‘petrol-heads’ there will be a competition for the fastest rounding of the islands in the Forth Estuary by RFYC yachts during the season. The islands are:

  • Inch Garvie
  • Inchcolm via Mortimers Deep buoyed channel & passing west of Ch Buoy 15
  • Inchmickery
  • Inchkeith via a rounding south of the Little Herwit Green Buoy in the Narrow Deep.
  • Isle of May stopping overnight if required by taking times at a near point off the island lights

Yacht skippers are open to choosing the most favourable wind and tide conditions for their passages.

Prizes may be awarded for this challenge if sufficient yachts compete.

For rules and more information, see page 13 of the SIs.
