PRESS PLACES AVAILABLE ON HOSPITALITY BOAT
What: EDINBURGH GIN REGATTA 2016
Who: Royal Forth and Forth Corinthian Yacht Clubs
When: 16th-17th July 2016
Where: On the Firth of Forth, off Granton and Silverknowes, Edinburgh
We are providing a luxurious hospitality boat, in the form of Midnight Caller, a Puget Sound 34, for members of the Press, TV and Radio to follow the racing from. There will be ample opportunity to get close up to the racing and expert commentary will be provided on board to assist in understanding the action.
The boat will be leaving Middle Pier at Granton Harbour at 9.30am on Saturday 16th July. Over the next 3-4 hours, it will follow the yachts as they race around the course, which will allow close-up views of the action as it happens. This will provide an excellent insight into tactics and the potential for some highly dynamic footage and photos.
Places are severely limited and they will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you could let us know your intentions at your earliest convenience, we would be very grateful.
The 2016 Edinburgh Gin Regatta is happening this coming weekend, 16th and 17th July 2016 and as always we would like to share our passion for boats, and racing in particular, with our neighbours in Edinburgh and along the Forth. Britain’s return to the America’s Cup race and Sir Ben Ainslie’s and others’ recent British successes, has widened and deepened the public appeal of sailing significantly.
The racing takes place over three days, starting with a Feeder Race on the Friday evening, from Port Edgar down to Granton Harbour, followed by two days of racing off Edinburgh itself. This culminates in the prize-giving held at the Royal Forth Yacht Club’s clubhouse on Sunday afternoon.
Fast Yacht Class racing can be watched most easily by the public from Silverknowes promenade, or the Cruiser Class racing from Wardie Bay shoreline. Races start from 10.30am on Saturday and 11am on Sunday.
If you have any questions, please contact the club office via email or phone.
