Anstruther Muster and Festival information for members wanting to cruise there this weekend.

2017 is the 20th anniversary of the first Anstruther Muster, so we would like to extend a special invitation to all yotties and boaties to bring their their vessels and crew to the party

For its anniversary year we have co-ordinated  the date of the  Muster weekend with FYCA to give a reasonable HW time that will encourage as many boats as possible from up the Forth to make it, subject to avoiding clashes with other FYCA sailing events.  HW Anstruther on 27 May is 1617BST

The 20th anniversary Muster will again be part of the Anstruther Festival weekend, starting on Friday evening with ‘Feis Anster’ – a bigger version of the traditional Muster ceilidh with pipe band parade and scottish country dance display, followed by a big dance ceilidh, and with hot food and a licensed bar.

Saturday and Sunday at the Harbour Festival will have ‘Anster Fair” market in a separate big marquee with food and crafts stalls and live music throughout the day, then the usual Muster Saturday night in the big marquee on the pier.with food the licensed bar and live music till late

On Saturday evening in the big Muster marquee we will have the presentation of the usual Muster  trophies( Furthest Travelled/ Oldest/ Smallest/Best Dressed. The marquee will also have a photographic history of the Muster’s 20 years. And back for the 20th anniversary there will be free “Anstruther Muster 2017′ pennants and cloth goodie bags for each visiting boat

This year the Muster will again have a Boat Jumble – this time organised along with the Reaper Boats Club with funds raised going towards the Reaper’s restoration. Feel free to donate your surplus boat bits to a good cause +  items over £50 will be sold for you on a 10% commission basis

The Muster will again feature its Classic Boat Rally – now in its 5th year. The Rally is open to yachts, dinghies, motorboats and working boats of classic design of any period or construction form (decision of ASC being  final on what qualifies as a classic ) Classics will be on display in a reserved area of the harbour, and information sheets on each boat will be provided by ASC adjacent to each boat.

A trophy will be awarded for Classic Boat of the Year, and there will be a reception for skippers and crew in the wardroom of the Reaper. Special “Anstruther Classic Boast Rally’ pennants will be issued to all entrants, and the Harbour Festival will reimburse harbour dues for classic boats and make a donation towards their expenses in attending.
