Welcome to the Royal Forth Yacht Club’s website.

Plans are going ahead to improve the harbour,  we are about to place an order for our silt agitation barge for more information on 'Boswall Bittern' go to the news page.

The dinghy regatta  enjoyed sunshine but the breeze was unreliable making for testing conditions for competitors and race officer alike.  Topper Weekend in August - details here soon.

The bi-annual Orkney race had a gentle start with a spinnaker run in sunshine and light airs down the Forth.   The fleet are now in Orkney.  Full report on the news page.

The Helgoland race saw 35 yachts on the pontoons  and a lively weekend for all invloved!  The Club has also just hosted the Sparkman and Stephens AGM and race with examples of these lovely  yachts from Denmark, Germany , the Netherlands and the UK visiting Granton.

We are Edinburgh’s longest established sailing club and for non-members and members alike these pages are intended to give some idea of who we are and what we do. We are based in Granton Harbour, just ten minutes from Edinburgh’s city centre. For our boat owning members we maintain swinging moorings in the harbour and our yard provides winter storage for them.

The waters of the Firth of Forth, just outside the harbour entrance, are comparable with any for holding major regattas as well as running a packed club racing programme each season for yachts and dinghies.

The east coast of Scotland is not recognised as highly as it should be as a cruising ground but our members sail the coast north and south and of course northern Europe and the Baltic are only a short hop across the North Sea.

The Club is an RYA Recognised Training Establishment and conducts a number of courses throughout the year as well as regular training evenings throughout the season. We also own a number of modern dinghies that are available for our members use.

Please browse these pages to learn more and if you have any questions still unanswered please contact us.
