Queensferry Crossing Official Opening Flotilla
Monday, September 4, 2017
On Monday 4th September there will be an event to celebrate the opening of the new Forth Crossing by HM the Queen, including a morning flotilla under the bridges. Exact details have yet to be confirmed and are beyond our control but this celebration will be incorporated into East Coast Sailing Festival and we anticipate the following:
- An evening race from Granton to Port Edgar on Sunday 3rd September (separate from the main event) after food in the Royal Forth Yacht Club. Port Edgar Marina have kindly offered free berthing for visiting ECSF boats on Sunday night.
- If there is sufficient interest – a “Red Eye” race or cruise from Granton to Port Edgar (separate from the main event) on Monday morning after an early breakfast in the Royal Forth Yacht Club.
- After the flotilla on Monday there will be a Hog Roast courtesy of Port Edgar Yacht Club during which ECSF2017 prize giving will take place.
While every care is taken to ensure this information is correct, in the event of any unexplained discrepancy, the Sailing Calendar takes precedence over the events calendar.
