Rusty Racers and Curry Night- Wednesday 25th April 7 for 7.30pm
Stewart Robertson (2017 RS400 Scottish Champion and 2nd in Europeans!) has kindly offered to remind us about the racing rules and this is an ideal opportunity to invite all new or potential members along or anyone who wants to start or improve their racing. There is homemade curry on offer so come along and join in this fun and social evening.
The sailing instructions for 2018 have been printed and are for sale in the clubhouse. There are A4 and A5 versions for home and on board and you will also need a new laminated breakwater course chart. The mid firth laminated chart for last year is unchanged so a new copy is not necessary. Huge thanks to Simon Peakman for all the work in preparing these instructions and to Ian Rogers for our new courses. There are new things this year as we have 3 fleets and these can be have split starts. John Roberston gave us a very helpful refresher on being part of the Race Officer team and how to prepare and cope with the start. The presentation is now on the website along with the visual guides to flag sequences which will also be available on Royal Forth and we have also been asked to have a set in the clubhouse.
White Sail Allowance and New Handicap List
We have made the WSA allowance more flexible to allow short-handed crews or inexperienced crews to claim an allowance on the day of racing to encourage yachts to turn out. The form has been revised and can also be used to claim your all season white sail allowance. The form will be on the website and also in the appropriately marked slot underneath the noticeboard in the clubhouse. The new handicap list will have a copy on the results board and on Royal Forth as well as the website.
