With seven boats in three fleets, the fourth mid evening points race yesterday evening had a good turnout. Our recent addition to the Squib fleet, Cascade, joined the racing, with a great performance. Here are just a few of the photos taken from the committee boat: Conditions were much better than expected, as the predicted […]
Sunday 21st July 2019 With a reasonable day forecast (albeit with no predicted wind whatsoever) members and guests gathered in the clubhouse at 09:30 hrs to discuss proposals for this latest Cruise in Company. We were pleased on this occasion to have the ‘C in C’ over a rising tide, so options for the day […]
We welcomed seven new sailors to the Club on Thursday 4th July, who experienced a fantastic cruise around the Forth, while it was gusting 25 knots. Solveig made attempts to reach the bar before Tidecatcher, but ultimately decided not to get the new crew too wet! Thanks for sharing these fantastic photos.
In a change to the normal format of the ‘Cruise in Company’ events, the third ‘C in C’ of the 2019 season was to be a 3 day event. This event had been publicised well in advance and notes of interest had been received from several skippers. Six boats ultimately participated in the weekend:- Tidecatcher(Brian Robertson, Danny Coupar & David Scott), Solveig(Neil Moffat, […]

Our first arrival from Helgoland nearly surprised us as they took less than 40 hours and completed around 420 miles in that time but the trackers proved really useful in predicting arrival times. After the mark at Helgoland it was all done on one tack! The Easterly breeze held for all the fleet although rough […]
The second C in C of the 2019 season was, once again, to be held over a falling tide so the group assembled in the clubhouse at 10am to discuss possible options for the day. With a F3/4 south westerly forecast for the day, with possible light showers, a cruise up river (against the tide) […]

This was the first C in C of the 2019 season. Although the forecast of showers and light variable winds was not particularly encouraging, we set off across the Forth hopeful that the day would be kind to us. As the cruise was over an ebb tide, and we were going to be out for […]
